Pardon the slight mis-quote, but I'm sure you get my gist.

Just make sure you don't get Major Tom's jism...

however bike carbs with megajolt set up on the rollers will see more power with similar fuel economy, but i can see the point in efi as well

That is true and either will make a good foundation upon which to base a megasquirt bike throttle body set up.

Once set up bike carbs tend to stay on tune a bit better than car carbs.

Bike carbs or efi?
Bike carbs edge it for power.
Efi edges it for economy/ reliability.

But which is best? There's only one way to find out...

"Set up" on the rat was non - existent. the engine was brought home from the scrappy, flywheel fitted (it was an auto) and then it was thrown (almost literally) into the car. Wires twisted together, key turned and it ran. And ran well. A bit of tidying up, but not much and it is now as it was then.

And yes, welcome back Mr.Bungle, you were the first guy I ever spoke to on the board years ago about electronic ignition.

Yes been dabbling with BMW's and doing up the house, not driving Capris, poor thing has been languishing in the garage forgotten about, and I lost my login on this site when it moved.
But I'm back and so is the 2.1, another good thing about EFi, start it after 4 months of standing in the garage, and it does 250 miles up the motorway faultlessly the same day.
