carb & inlet

Post by David Lean »

I've got a twin choke weber carb to go on my mk3 1.6 - but I'm lacking the inlet manifold. (busted it actually)

is this inlet and carb standard equipment off a different capri? - that just fits on by coinsidence / chance or was it some sort of factory option?

If it is please tell me so can source the part locally - please help as I am dying to get some more ponies under the bonet of my gutless penis extension

Carb inlet manifold

Post by guitarswet »

You just need to get hold of an inlet manifold from a 2lt Capri. Try one of the spares suppliers on my 'spares' section. I saw loads for sale at the CCI summer camp. On late models like my 2lt there is a 'ported vacuum valve' fitted to the bottom of the manifold with two tubes that fit to the carburettor. The Haynes manual explains what it does and how to retro fit the device to older cars in Chapter 13. I think it improves cold start performance?!?!
