Tyre Pressures

Post by Mat Gill »

Hi,

I have just purchased a lovely 2.8i special, however it did not come with the manual and so I was hoping someone could tell me the correct tyre pressures for the standard 205/60s that are on the car.

Also I am about to start a restoration job on my other Capri, a 2.0 Laser, and was wondering if anyone had fitted fuel injection to one and how easy it was to do.

Thanks,

Mat.

Fuel Injection

Most people tend to go for the 2 litre injection from a sierra.

I've got the tyre pressure info at home, so i'll post it on here later.

As regards injection, the complete engine from a 2.0 Sierra is the commonest swap, as this has the added bonus of an unleaded head too. I was helped by an AA patrol once who turned out to be a Capri nutter. He showed me all his pictures of his 2.0i on which he had done an engine swap from a Sierra. He said it was quite a straightforward job if you just maintain all the plumbing and the parts of the loom from the Sierra that run the ECU module and all that.

Tyre pressures from 2.8i owners guide

Here are the tyre pressures I said I'd put on here, sorry for the delay!

For 205/60s:
Upto 3 people on board: 28psi front and rear
Fully laden: 32psi front and rear

If are travelling at speeds over 100mph you are supposed to add 1.5psi for every 6mph you intend to go faster up to 118mph, over which you start assing 3psi per 6mph.
