LASER POWER

Fuel Consumption

Post by LASER POWER »

My Laser seems to be a bit too thirsty in the old petrol department, i've checked for fuel leaks and made sure that all the tyres are at the right pressures...any other suggestions to solve the beast's thirst?...

short journeys

If all your journeys are only two miles, the engine will never warm up fully, the choke will never get a chance to open off and you will never get good fuel economy.

Take it for a motorway trip and I bet you'll find it won't be too thirsty.

my 2 litre has a manual choke. yes it is very good on the motorway, as it has a 5 speed gearbox. The valve settings are set the timung at 8btdc the point dwell, and the idle mixture set . I guess its one of those things about carb engines.
