Mk 1 Moor power & more stoping

I have a mk1 1300 xl and would like more go. Would I be beter off fiting a 1600 x flow or a 2.0 ohc and 5 speed? After fiting either I will need to uprate the brakes so would like to fit a survo, which would fit and will I need ato change the pedal box??
