fuel consumption

I have changed my 3 litre down to a 2 litre pinto and have found that the weight of the back axle has nothing to do with the high fuel consumption. I dont know what the mpg is but its high! I have a weber twin choke carb on it, the engine is in good condition and i cant think what it could be. Would 10k boost help, or maybe fitting one of those ecotec widgets to the servo breather pipe. Any suggestions would be very appreciated.Maybe its the weber carb?
