rear window heater

my rear window heater/clearer does not work. Are there any common problems with capris why these go wrong? would it be easier to buy a complete new kit? any help much appreciated

there are three common problems with these and the first is to check to see if there are any breaks in the lines.if not you can try checking the metal terminals which can be found either side of the inside egde of the tailgate.Are the spades conncetd?It could have broken off.the last option that i know about is the switch itself.Are the wires still connected?
What about the fuses?If it's none of these then i'm afraid it's beyond me!!
