Nut spacing on alloy wheels for capri

I looked at the price for 16 inch alloys and they are a rip off new, so i wanna get some second hand ones. thing is, i dunno what alloys will fit the capri and what won't. If they were previously on a Ford, then will they for any ford car??if so, presumably i can put any alloys that were on a ford, on my capri. if not, what other fords have the same nuts spacing as the capri. cheers...

The PCD (Pitch sircle diamter) or nut spacing as you put it, is 108mm on Fords - that is to say that they are diagonally opposed by 108mm. All modern four stud ford patterns have the same PCD, although the offset (distance from the mounting face of the wheel and the wheel's centre) varies between FWD, RWD and 4WD models. FWD vehicle typically have a large offset, typically around 35-40mm, RWD around 10-20mm (I think Capri's have an offset of 18, but don't quote me on that) and 4WD wheels tend to be around 25mm. If you choose to fit wheels from FWD applications, you will have to use spacers.. Ideally you are best off looking for wheels from a 2wd Sierra, Cortina or Capri.

cos although FWD alloys fot the offset is wrong
the
only 16" ford wheels are escort cossie ones.
OR Cossie montes came with OZ super T's (rocking horse poo)

both wuill cost you an arm and a leg.

15" you have the choice of brooklands RS 7 spokes.

and they fill out the arches nicely.

i can also get my hands on a set of them. the offset difference is negligeble.
