Evening all!
I'm looking at banding some steel wheels for my Capri as I want the original look but with a bit of stance. Trying to calculate the maximum width that I can get away with without any modification to the car. The car is currently sitting 1" lower on the front which is matched by the back and the tired leaf springs.
I will be starting from 13" x 5.5J LS steel wheels which I believe have an offset of ET19. I'm wondering if I could take these wheels up to 7.5" on the outside lip which would end up with an offset of around ET-6. This reduces arch clearance by around 50mm. Alternatively, I only go for 7" which would make the wheel offset around ET0 with a reduced clearance of 38mm. The final option is to add metal to both sides of the wheel (this gets expensive) and then get dial in the perfect offset.
Any insight would be awesome as I currently don't have access to the car due to it being at the body shop.
Thanks!

Why not just get new rims welded onto your centres. I bought Roh rims and had the old 5.5" rims turned off the centres and the new 6"rims welded on. Custom offset, and balanced up nice too . ...huh I still got them ,probly not to flash now ,been under various benches for 30 odd years.
Sometimes I talk to myself ... and we both have a good laugh

Interestingly, JBW do "pepperpot" steel wheels for relatively cheap and they almost look the same as LS wheels. Hmm, food for thought.
