New Cambelt

Post by Toxcity »

Hi all,

I've fitted a new cambelt yesterday and during the tensioning stage when you turn the engine over by hand the belt seems to slowly edge forward on the pulleys. Is this normal?

Cheers

I`ve never noticed it. Assuming all the pulleys are correctly mounted (have you had them off?) I`d just give it a few more turns to check it settles into a reasonable position, i.e. all the teeth are engaged across their full width. I`m sure it`ll be ok

Decided to roll with it and once the engine was started everything settled down into it usual position. Panic over! :chillpill:
Cheers!
