Ford Capri Models

Post by Andrew 2.8i »

If anybody is interested, Scalextric are due to release a new model, this rather nifty looking Greater Manchester Police Capri.

Also in the pipeline, this Brut racing version.

On the subject of models, Burago have released a model of the 2.8 (sorry Jason, not a Pinto...). Anyone familiar with Burago models will know that the quality doesn't compare with, for example, Minichamps. However, I was pleasantly surprised at how good it is and at £14.99 for a 1/24th scale model is a bit of a steal.

Brut Capri looks cool. Have an old Scalextric 3.0S in red, and a Zakspeed by Fly. That would go well with them.

Yes, the Scalex Capri will look good with the other cars you have.
Scalextric make greatly detailed stuff these days. Fly really made them up their game and produce models that look as good being displayed on a shelf as they do racing around the track.
I had all of the Scalextric Capris and a few of the Fly models, but I sold them when I got rid of my collection 16 years ago. I wish I'd kept them now !

Haven't you received that OFAH set yet? Some plonker must have shifted them all down the market !
I've been adding to my Capri collection with some of the older Matchbox and Corgi stuff that I had when I was younger. I'd forgotten about most of them, so it's good to have them again.

I think I've got one of the yellow 3.0S and two or three of the black S ones from 'back in the day' a bright orange Zakspeed, a white Zakspeed and a couple of RS2600 and RS3100 all for scalextric but never use any of them haha

Looks good, Jason.
I didn't realise you'd ordered the Scalextric version, I thought you were getting the 1/43 scale Corgi set.
