Can Anybody Identify This?

Post by Andrew 2.8i »

Can anybody identify where this clip is from?

Image

I was feeling around the area of the pedals in order to release the cables and I later spotted this on the carpet.
I can't see where it came from, but then it's difficult to see anything at all around the top of the pedals.

Thanks in advance for any answers.

Andrew.

I agree.
The long thin end slots down into the top of the pedal at the front. It is then lifted over the top, trapping the ball on the end of the throttle cable within its recess. Once over the top, push down on the tab and it will click into position, holding the cable in place.
Don't drive the car without it fitted as the cable could become detached at an embarrassing moment.

Thank you to everybody who took the time to respond, it's much appreciated.

It looks like it might be a bit of a fiddle putting the clip back, but at least I now know where it goes.

To be honest, once you've done it once, it is simple, even with your eyes closed.
First time though??? Forget the mirror, take a beer.

Oh mate, if that's come off it's a big job. More than the car's worth... but I'll save you the trouble and take it of your hands for £200.

Andrew. It's dead simple to refit the clip, you don't need to see where it goes, in fact it's easier to do it by feel ( as with a lot of things)

Thanks Martin.
I've had a proper look at it now and it doesn't look like a difficult job at all.

Is it a genuine Ford clip? It's only worth £100 if not.
