Let’s hope it’s one tick in the box, assuming the letter is correct you then need to send to the dvla to update there records with the correct month of manufacture

Oldschool :D
I'll send it to their SA99 1BA address that should find it's way to the right dept.

So I keep the V5 with me, and when I apply for historic tax at the post office with relevent documents (hopefully April 2024), they will send it all to DVLA and a new V5 comes back as historic?

All good thanks Jason. I bought some nice bright lime green ones to help this year but decided to use them as dusters as I don’t think the car will be going far this year, luckily I didn’t have to buy a tax

Keep feeding pinto the dog

I have had comfirmation from Ford UK of the build date, November 1983

Using the above link, I sent an email to the taxation team on Saturday morning asking if it was ok to send them my letter from Ford UK in advance and for the correct postal address, but still waiting a reply!

My dad's car became tax exempt on April the 1st this year, going by the VIN plate her build date was April 1979 and she was first registered on the 25th May 1979, perhaps I'm being thick but I would have thought she became tax exempt in 2019 but not according to the lovely lady I spoke to at DVLA - a lady with a Welsh accent how could I disagree!

It’s a bit strange but the cars build date must be 40 years old as of jan 1st, however you can’t get historic status until April the 1st of that year. So on jan 1st 2019 your car was 39. They don’t make it easy
