I got a new leg ,now I gotta think of a name for it ( not Norman Clegg ). The brand is Otto Bock . It has electronicly controlled hydraulic dampners/brake. If the weight is on the heel it locks the knee ,not solid but very stiff ,and as I walk on to the toe it unlocks ,almost totally and if I think of kicking something small ( cats dogs kids ,dwarfs ) as I bring my foot ( well not my foot but you know what I mean)forward it swings thru untill it stops and then locks ....even if the knee is not fully straight ,so it doesnt bend again and throw me on my face, at this point if I realise its not straight I can continue to fully straight . Cunning thing looks for rythym and if it detects anything abnormal ( like if I trip or miss-time a step ) it locks . Ramps are going to be interesting , once I take a few steps it recognises the situation and alters lock points ( there are sensors in the foot bit ....which is waterproof ) .
This is going to be a hoot when I get a bit pissed

Wow Hamish !!! As Paul has already said a fascinating insight indeed. Did not have a clue these new legs were so 'clever' Bleedin amaxing fella. Bet this will take some getting used to. Hope all goes well mate. And it looks very cool as well. I can highly recommend Autoglym Super Resin Polish which will keep it nice and shiny
