Capri Spotted!

Post by Andrew 2.8i »

I spotted this Capri parked fairly locally to me. Does it belong to anybody on here?

Actually, it was very windy that day. Even still, you wouldn't get that situation with a fitted stormforce cover.

I think it depends on how much rain your stormforce sees... I've had two or three and after they've been rained on a few times they just stop being waterproof and when its dry blow around all over the gaff!

I've had 3 Stormforce covers on different cars including a Capri and all have been fine.

I think the sun does degrade them over time which may cause them to be less waterproof, but not 100% sure about that.

Obviously not as good as a garage but if you leave a couple of inches of slack in the straps it will handle 60mph winds no problem, and also use a soft brush while in place to remove dust etc, also remove regularly to let the car breath.

I think if the car was garaged it wouldn't be a problem - they're great to start with but after a few months of it being outside in the rain - particularly over winter - it never gets properly dry so just always seemed to be soaking wet and seeping through onto the car anyway... sorry to disappoint!

I took the straps off mine in the end because all I heard was them whacking the side of the car and when I took it off wasn't very pleasant getting down on my hands and knees in the wet to throw a strap under the car when it's never blown off anyways

When I had to cover my car I put a couple of pool noodles over the roof so as to stop the cover chaffing and provide a bit of air gap.

I thought Mc meant Pot Noodles, I was wondering what use they would have been. :D

This Capri is currently for sale on Ebay.

It's interesting to see that it has a Zetec engine with bike carbs.
