Scorchio!

Post by Andrew 2.8i »

Phew, it's hot!
It's not as hot here as it is in some parts of the country but 30 degrees is way too warm for me.
I hope everybody is keeping well and adhering to the recommended advice to stay safe in this hot weather.

Currently full up and no more space but I still want a 2.8...

I'm really struggling with it, it's about 34 here and with my 20 stone bulk it's no laugh. Feet in a bowl of cold water and wet towel round my neck.

To add insult to injury the aircon has recently crapped itself in my daily.

Around 25 here with a breeze so not too bad, but indoors anyway as not a great lover of this heat, and too hot for driving Capris.

Night times are the worst trying to sleep

Hopefully it stays dry at least for Haynes. It is summertime after all.

Common sense, but drink lots of water and stay in the shade if possible, if not plenty of suncream! (My Public Service announcement) :D

Stupid hot here, and cycling home from the airport into a hot headwind was no fun. On the plus side my new tool cabinet arrived today :)

I agree, although I saw plenty of (non-Capri) classics out and about enjoying the sunshine.
Hopefully Haynes will be dry, as you say, but not too hot. That would be ideal.

I love all this glorious weather. Constantly amazes me that so many people are complaining about how nice it is!

It's not so nice when I have to drive around with the heating on in the capri

I must say, I`ve been out in the Capri 2 out of the last 3 days and it has been absolutely wonderful! The thing is, I`ll get it out of a cool garage so it starts off cold and as it`s out on the quiet country roads the flow of air keeps it cooler. It`s superb, just cruisin`, windows down, roof open, it`s what i live for.

The Fiat however.... almost undriveable after standing in the sun - steering wheel`s way too hot to hold, temp must be 50+ inside after standing in the sun, sweat running off your face & in your eyes, yep I can definitely see both sides :D

Could you not try just temporarily clamping off the heater hose, just while you`re driving? Wouldn`t leave it clamped permanently but could get you over this hot spell.

I just worry about the engine overheating - I leave it on because the temperature gauge shoots up pretty quickly if I leave it... Luckily it's in the GL which has a glass sunroof I can pop out so most of it goes straight out the roof, just melts my face on the way past
