Not what I thought .
Rebuild wise it was all about the engine and suspension for the first 50 minutes, then all of a sudden cars were 99% complete :o :headscratch:
Badly edited and too much talk from the vicar about the cars history imo.

Good concept but it could be alot better.

Nice to know there is a Capri one then, after all :)

I quite like this show, it's a bit different than the other car shows and it's easy to watch in a happy go lucky way.

For some reason I preferred the second episode to the first, and it would be a fairer race to finish if they used the same cars.

I watched the Grand Tour lastnight on Amazon and it was really good with them talking about Ford , Cortina to Mondeo .
And Clarkson broke down in tears at the end as that was the last show :cigar:

They are just going to make specials now ....

I watched the Capri episode of Mission Ignition last night. To be honest, I didn't think much of the show even with the added interest of having a Capri 2.8 on it. The Capri appeared to be quite a nice one, from what I could tell.
I think the programme would be better if both teams were assembling an identical car, otherwise what is the point of going head to head?

Surprise, I watched it too :)
That's the third week it's apparetnly taken around 10 hours to complete the rebuild :headscratch:
I can imagine the likes of Martin cringing at it

Pretty sure they aren't that close to finishing at the same time either....A bit ot TV drama there.

Last one next week, don't think I'll really miss it, although Saturday evening TV is pretty :turd:

I was thinking exactly the same. I would have thought that a Capri is fairly rudimentary when compared to the BMW, therefore it should take much less time to reassemble.

I watched the first episode couple of days back and thought it was shite ! The worst car show I've seen. Even the 'tv drama' mentioned here about the 'close finish' was just boring :sleepy: :sleepy:

Seen more drama in Tipping Point.... :sorry:

I watched this last night and I really liked it. I find it colourful and happy to watch, and not to be taken seriously. Yes I agree plenty of TV drama added in, but I still found myself egging on the Capri at the end and almost cheering when 'we' won!

The presenters are clumsy, the editing not so great and not enough mechanical info, and that buying/selling 'expert' seems anything but, but I hope it makes it to another series.

And having owned a car which has been plagued by the dreaded warning/engine lights, I now know that I shall never wish to own that BMW with it's multitude of warning systems!

The Capri adverts and info were great to see.

I had that today with two nice ladies knock on the door with a book and ask me if I new the true meaning to Easter , of course I said it’s aboût Easter eggs , the bunny & Hot cross buns . Then they went and said to watch a film on tv this weekend about a bloke who did some woodwork and dies at the end . Some people really give the plot away .

Paul I must say I was the same praying that BMW would not start and was over the moon when the Capri started .

Nick watch it backwards as they take the car apart

Yes it really was an edge of the seat cheering moment! First time I've felt like that with any car show.

I'm looking forward to the new car show "Bangers and Cash" starting on the Yesterday channel tonight at 8pm. Looks really good in the trailers.

It's all about the auctioneers D T Matthewson in Yorkshire.
