Mk2 at Castle Combe

Post by Caprifan Rob »

Went to Supercar Saturday at Castle Combe yesterday. Lots of nice cars there as per title & this wonderful mk2 3.0S turned up. Stunning looking car & fantastic condition inside & out.

Very nice car! Also, these old fords were giving their owners a brilliant day out, being used hard & enjoyed and why not.

First up this cracking 2 door Cortina with V8 power on the track;

And this Escort converted from 4 to 2 door on the slalom;

That was the last event weekend up there for this year, bloody cold too. Looking forward to next year. Should have put this on gallery really :roll: .
Hope everyone ok,
Rob

Hi Rob,
It looks like you had a great day out, despite the cold! Did you or any of your boys take to the track in any of your cars?
The 3.0S looks stunning, I like that a lot.

It was a great day out, always enjoy it up there.
Didn’t take their cars on the track yesterday but took Josh’s on there last month, I only went as his passenger ( was afraid of getting it horribly wrong, even though he has track day insurance ) fantastic experience mind.

Taking Corey’s to Llandow raceway on the 10th November, I’ll be passenger there as well. Driven them on the road but don’t fancy someone else taking me out on track.
They’re braver than me ..

Josh's car looks superb, as always, and a driving on a trackday does look like a lot of fun. :D

Hi Rob,

Yep as has already been said that 3.0S is a bleedin stunner mate. Wow ! Bet that made your day. Great pics of the other cars in action too mate...including Josh's the month before. Bet that was great fun and I agree with Mr 2.8i his car looks superb mate. Bet it handles as good as it looks !!

Anyway great pics mate. Thanks for sharing. Ermm....but tell me Rob, when I clicked on the picture of the 3.0S it opened up postimage and alongside the cracking Capri was a cracking Asian girl looking to meet older men in the Bristol area :shock: :)

Cheers Nick. The Asian ladies are currently cheaper in Bristol but when the Severn bridge charges end in December I expect it’ll be more cost effective for them to venture over more frequently. More money for track days ;) :D

Looking forward to seeing some great Capri’s, should imagine the Porsche club will put on a show too. Next year should be good with the Capri 50th, I’m sure the clubs will see they’re well represented.
