Kurust tip

I've got this week mainly off, so have been dealing with a few bits of surface rust and stone chips before it gets too cold to do anything over winter. I've been grinding back to as clean metal as possible, then using Kurust before priming. The stuff is a right pain to get off brushes etc and runny as anything.
What I tried, and worked really well, is applying it with a sponge. I bought a cheap pack of dishwashing sponges and cut one to approx 1" width, tore off the scourer backing, dipped it in the pot and it applied beautifully. Much fewer dribbles and a more even application. P.S. wear gloves, it gets everywhere!
Anyway, just thought I'd post this here in case it helps someone else, it may be a well known trick or something but anyway!
