Why not to speed approaching a roundabout !!

Apparently the motorcyclist who caught this footage on his helmet cam said the van sped to get past another van but did not pay any attention to what was in front of him...a bleeding big roundabout. Driver had to be cut out of his van and two others injured. Police are investigating but surely this footage explains all ! :(

I love seeing things like this, because I can just imagine the smug look of the van driver, thinking he's so clever by getting past the slower traffic. Then that smug look turning into a look of terror. Clown. I just hope that nobody else was injured or their property damaged.
The video reminds me of a similar YouTube video that was doing the rounds a few years ago when a drink driver, with her young daughter in the car, managed an almost identical feat.

That reminds me of a near-incident when I first got my Capri. I'd had it days and I didn't realise one of the calipers was just starting to bind. The first weekend I had her, I was hammering down the A500 from Hanley to Crewe going hell-bent for leather (at the speed limit, of course, officer) and reached the yellow rumble-strips they'd just laid down to warn you of the upcoming motorway-junction roundabout. I hit the brakes, and the pedal just went to the floor. Fortunately, repeatedly pumping the brakes put enough unboiled-fluid to the calipers each time to effect some degree of stoppage before it reboiled, so I could time my approach to fit into an awkward gap in the traffic coming round the roundaout, go round it like one of those people who reckons they needed concrete in their boot, and eventually stop halfway down a side-road, with smoke pluming from the front passenger-side wheel. :drive: After a few hours of cooling down at the nearby Little Chef I gingerly nursed the car home. Lesson learned. The road is not a racetrack. :wank: I occasionally give her the beans when overtaking or I get a kid in a Corsa line up next to me, but the vast of the majority of the time, I'm pootling along, shifting up at 1800rpm, saving fuel and getting on everyone's nerves. I'm well aware that even in a Capri you can drive faster than your guardian angel can fly.

He must of known a roundabout was coming up but was going to fast , looking again his brake lights did not come up .

But as you all say I watched one of these camera action police programs on the tv and a guy was being chased for miles smashed the car up and at the end they said the bloke got off . God know why ?
