The truth never hurt anyone Nick :)
Imo it looks terrible as do other Capri Convertibles.

I think it looks horrible but then the Capri in my opinion has never looked good as a convertible.

The chap selling it often has reasonably priced Capris for sale, he seems to trade in them as a sideline to his model shop.

Yep, agree guys. As soon as you chop/shave the roof off a Capri you do it an injustice imo. Yep, some might say the Crayfords are done to a very high standard but as Andy and Paul have both said convertible Capri's just don't look so good and definitely takes away the wonderfulness of the shape :) Looks in very good condition though and had some excellent quality parts/trim/engine so sadly I reckon it could be bought for the parts as you would have to have some bollocks to turn up at a show in this

Alan Jarvis, isn't it? A well known figure in the Capri community and, it would appear, a man with other talents too. Here he is with part of his Capri collection as a backdrop.

There are many cars that don't suit being rag topped...
The Capri is such a beautiful shape and it's swooping roof line is part of its apeal plus the bonnet is too long, so it throws the proportions out.
It's almost as ugly as a Tickford...

Jeepers Andrew, this is like a scene from "Christine"...I was cowering behind a pillow expecting the headlights on those Capri's to suddenly come on

Seriously Andrew, how the dickens did you end up with a you tube video of Alan playing "I Will Survive" with his Capri collection in the background...you really need to get out of Wales more... ..... .... :sorry:

Great clip all said above. Love it :applaud:

Love the you tube link with the capris in the back .

But yes I almost drove to Hampshire in 2016 to look at the rag top capri as I was thinking I might be able to live with a Capri with no roof . I still have a picture of the car . Also it was £5595 back then . When I phoned the garage he said he would take £4500 for it but I love the pintos capris to much and a roof so never went to look .

As Tim said above, the roof line is part of the look and without that it just looks wrong

Yes your right it was not mercury grey , I remeber showing the wife and she said “ are you mad “ but your all right it does take somebody with that taste to take on a Capri with no roof . Also sounds like it was a lot of money to put right if they are the same car that is . But looking I think so .

Funny but perhaps I might post up some capris that were on my list , but worried somebody might have bought it . So perhaps not . :ford:

It's funny how the Mk1 looks OK as a convertible, but the Mk3 definitely does not.

I can't ever recall seeing a Mk2 that's been converted.

Hi Andrew,
I agree the MK1 looks better, but I still don't like it.
