Wheeler Dealers - Datsun 510

Post by Fordoholic Nick »

I watched this episode tonight off my TiVo list and really enjoyed it. This 1972 Datsun 510 really is a lovely car and Ant did a fantastic job with it. He sprayed it all himself too and what a glorious colour. Fitted a 5 speed gearbox and other mods too. What a beautiful motor !

That looks stunning.
I can't watch the episode though. Only posh people can afford to get the Discovery channel...…... :)

I found Mike Brewer got more annoying with each new series.

I still remember seeing a few of those around when I was a teenager but it wasn't until the 120Y Sunny replaced it in 1974 that Datsun went big in this country. All of them were well equiped and built and very reliable but started rusting the minute they went through their first puddle.

The name changed from Datsun to Nissan in about 1986. I won't bore you with the history behind it.
