It looks like it's full of junk but doesn't look beyond redemption. Bit of grot on the roof hinge but sills and arches look OK.

It looks like it. According to howmanyleft.co.uk, there are only around 100 of that model still registered, so quite a rare car.

Andrew.
Those wheels were on the 2.9 1990 onwards too. I was offered a NOS set last year but I don't really like them as much as the 7 spokes :D

My mate has a 2.0 version, again not my cup of tea.
True yes they were, it slipped my mind when posting, I agree on the wheels my 92 saph gls always looked awkward on the same standard doglegs didn't look bad from the passengers side but I hated the drivers side as the wheels didn't flow the correct way, it looked much better when I got some rs accessory 7 spokes

There appears to be 'Police Aware' tape in some of the shots, guess you don't know why Andrew?

Looks like someone has cut the rear wash jet out and welded a flat patch over it which is odd!

Always a shame to see cars in this state but I think that's because we like to dream about them just as much as the owners! I can say right now I'd love that Mk1 Escort but if I miraculously came round to owning it I doubt I'd ever managed to get it done either

Rose tinted lenses and all that razz, "I'll do it different" we all say but when someone offers you to buy it I'd be surprised if we all went ahead and bought the thing haha
A wise man once said... "you can never have too many capris - buy another"
It's me, I'm the wise man.

Sorry Peter, I have no idea of the history regarding these cars. Perhaps the Police kept getting reports that the cars were stolen and dumped? It's a truly intriguing situation.
