So my wife has never driven the Capri until today also she has driven a modern automatic for years . So I was told that she had to pop to bluewater shopping center then we was having lunch . I thought yes ok we can take the Capri and you can drive .
OMG she said that’s fine . Pants what did I say so in she got and pulled the mirror off so I put that back on and she stated her up and we went straight across the road in to the drive way of the house in front . Christ I said what are doing it was the steering was to heavy . So she turned the wheel and of we went up a small country lane to the main road . Out we went and now heading towards the motorway with me saying I can drive . She got fifth gear wrong once but got the hang to quick for my liking .
So after getting her shopping we had a nice lunch and I drove home .

So I will not joke anymore .......

These old cars aren't as easy to drive as many think....I haven't let the Mrs drive mine, although she did drive my 280 down the M5 some years ago.

My mrs loves the fact we've got one but is totally uninterested in driving it. Shame :D
Jason, you're very trusting

I have the same problem! Having two doesn't help either, she can't escape from them
At least I know she'll never want to drive it!

Mrs fp used to love driving my capri, she can really pedal a car around, it is a bit slow compared to her car though which is a S2 escort rs turbo

Standard ones are a bit tame to be fair they need that chip, boost increase and exhaust that takes them to 170bhp, Try one with cosworth management and a host of other performance upgrades and you will laugh at most things on the road, I thought my old one was quick until I built this, I have been in the car when she has wiped the floor with cossies and a skyline r32 GTR to name 2

Sound impressive :)
The one I drove was an XR3i Cabriolet with the RS engine fitted. Apparently around 220 bhp is possible but he was advised the 170 was the best option, as the car was well set up at that with the mods you stated above......Very quick car :drive:

Would like to see a pic of yours :D
