I Couldn't Resist It!

Two 1980s design icons......

I don't even wear a watch usually, but this so retro cool I thought it was a perfect match for the Capri. :D

That’s funny is it a repro or a real 80s icon ? People will talk about that for days more then they would with a Rolex .

Thanks Andy. As it was only £9, it seemed rude not to!

Good choice Andrew :) I have seen this re-release for some time, it is a very classic design. I still have an original one, needs a new strap though, that rubber just perished.

Well, it's more of a re-release than a reproduction. It's still made by Casio in the same style as an original, and it doesn't have any modern features or anything.

Thanks Paul. Sadly, I threw out my originals many years ago.
Have you considered buying one of these to use the strap on your original?

Nice! I was surprised at how many classic designs have been re-released. They must believe there to be a big market out there for retro style watches.

Hi John,
Yep, you've definitely gone old school there! I've only just received mine so I haven't had chance to see if the battery goes flat quickly or if it keeps decent time. I also haven't had chance to see if it really is water resistant to 50 metres...... :D

I had one the same back in the day John..... They went flat in a week because you were constantly pushing the button to light up the time, even when you didn't want to know what time it was, just because it was so cool to see it light up. Am I right thinking it also displayed the date?

Hi Andy,
I had one of those back in the day, as I remember, I hardly ever had the need to do sums on my travels! . These watches have also been re-released as part of the Casio collection.

Brilliant :D

I never wear a watch now as I don't like things around my wrist. Strange as I always wore one when I was younger :?
IIRC I had one with 6 different alarms

Same here. I think the last watch I wore before I bought this black Casio digital watch and stopwatch was a............black Casio digital watch and stopwatch!

On the subject of classic 80's stuff being re-released, I noticed an advert in the latest CCI magazine for this:
https://www.duckhams.com/product/20w-50-engine-oil/
It seems that Duckhams Q is being sold again.
