Had a great day today. B112 passed mot and I finally fitted the new 7x15" wheels ! I am really really happy with them. They look very nice indeed !! After fitting all four I was really pleased with how they looked. They really have more presence about them indeed which the pics might show but even better in the flesh !! Lovely wheels and with the Yokohama 195 50 15 tyres they do look as good as I was hoping they would...phew
As I have now finally treated myself to these wheels now is also the perfect time to get B112 set up just as I have wanted for a while so I will very likely lower by 1.5 or 2" at the rear then see about the front afterwards when I see how it looks. Even without lowering the Capri these 15" wheels really do look very nice and have made an instant impact. I love em !!!!

Hi Nick,
The wheels look great on your car, you've made a good choice IMO
And I fully agree with you that it now needs lowering a bit. Not a silly amount that will make it worse to drive but just a sensible ride height.
One of the first jobs I did on my Capri was to fit lowered springs on the front. I spoke to the Guys at Tickover for advise and went for their 1 inch lower 145 lb springs. I wasn't disappointed the original springs were worn out, so the ride height wasn't really effected, but the extra strength in the springs made an improvement to the handling without compromising the ride quality
I think the 2.8 Capri is 1 inch lower than a Laser so you might want to think about lowering yours by 2 inches.... Check with Tickover I might be wrong!
Then when I put new leaf springs on the back of mine it raised the back to about the same height as yours. I needed to drop the back by 2 inches to get it back to where it was when I had old saggy springs on the back. So I'd suggest 2 inch blocks would be what you need.
Heres a photo of my car to show you how it would sit. Hard to see on a black car, but the rear sits with a small gap between the tyre and the arch. The front tyres sit just up inside the arch however it doesn't rub when you turn corners. I like the car to sit slightly lower at the front. When I see them dragging down at the back, it makes me wonder how many bags of cement have they got in their boot
Did they do your new wheels in other colours? I'm not sure black wheels would work on a black car
All the best
