It's not only the scripts that made OFAH great, the actors were perfectly cast for their roles too.

I love only fools. It's my go to TV when I just don't want to concentrate as I have seen them so many times. It is timeless to a degree, Great characters and great actors. They just can't write like this anymore, it's either pretentious comedy, or repulsive vulgar stuff using shocks for laughs.

ITV3 today has; Man About The House, On the Buses, Are You being Served and The Likely Lads
Some good old fashioned comedy T/V, before everyone got so sensitive

It's my go to telly for comfort and a televisual hug.....takes me back to my childhood.
Just a shame it ran too long, as the latter shows where just embarrassing
Yes it was cast perfectly but apparently Jim Broadbent was going to be cast as Del Boy......
He made a great character though as Slater the bent copper .

He is a good actor in his own right, but would OFAH been as good? Nope!timfromull wrote: Yes it was cast perfectly but apparently Jim Broadbent was going to be cast as Del Boy......
