I remember buying a pair of them back in the late eighties for the then girlfriend's Mk2 XR2. I think with brackets they came to about £45 if I remember right. Wish I'd kept them in their box because the cow of a girlfriend a few months later f**ked off taking the bloody 2 year old XR2 that muggins here had bought for her.

At least she didn't try to rip me off for half the house though, thank goodness.

Considering what they are and where they are on the car it's a hell of a risk. I always had covers on mine to help protect them.

Andy just beat me to it, I was about to write that I'd definitely have to buy some covers to protect them!
Both those Ebay listings appear to be expensive, but if somebody wanted some for a concours restoration, where else could they buy a set?

Andrew.

 Great minds :)

:agree: Sellers have you over a barrel now if you want these new quality items :spank:

My mate has lots of Capri parts either NOS or mint original that he bought over 5 years ago ready for when he restores it. He would probably have to pay double what he did now :? Just wish he would get on with it

I sometimes wonder where or when this will end with the price of some parts today.
Unfortunately for us genuine enthusiasts, there are a lot of chancers jumping on the bandwagon :spank:

There are two and a half sets in my garage. Kept them as spares for my escort. Think I have another odd one in the loft. Hard to believe how much parts go for, I even have a set of genuine see through plastic spot light covers, never seen another set. I often think to sell stuff but had it that long I can't seem to get rid. I recall at the dealer where I worked getting rid of huge amounts of stuff including about and I kid you not 400 off light blue badges that I found behind a parts bin during a stock take on my YTS, I kept one - still have it. Capri wings and exhausts, radio cassettes, alloys, loads of old first aid kits and accessories, rs turbo body kits and loads of other stuff including a Sapphire Cosworth bodyshell that came wrong. We were a dumping ground and now and again had s clear out. A whole load of Capri 2.8i bits went, I through them in a hugeetal skip. Worthless then and taking up space.

I know NOS items can be rare now but some people take the p*ss, especially adding p&p at those prices

I would love a room full of items like this and I wouldn't be asking these prices if I sold them, as I would rather see a car on the road than laid up due to parts prices :doh

It's likely these items will be bought by someone and put in a cupboard for 2 years, then back for sale around £1000
