1396 miles between MOT tests. It looks like I'm in second place behind Jason so far!

Yes, driving the Capri is weather dependant, and sadly the Great British weather has let me down badly over the last few years.....
Despite that, I still change the oil and filter every year! :D

And I think it's only going to get wetter and wetter as time goes on by the look of it.

It stuck in my mind, as some things do, that you mentioned 2000 miles a year. Not sure why, perhaps it's just a memorable round figure. Just in case you think I was stalking you or something! :)

That's something to look forward to :headscratch:

It is only water and dirt and will wash off easily, but I still can't bring myself to drive the car in the rain unless I really have to.

It washes off the bodywork easy enough, but it's a lot harder to clean the suspension components and the underside after driving in the rain.
Plus, the spray can get into crevices and may cause issues with corrosion later on. That's my view on it anyway.

That's what worried me the most when I got caught a couple of times last year.

How do you clean that off? Personally I just crawl under and dry brush it off or/and wipe over with a WD-40 soaked rag which works wonders. Interested to hear what others do though, it is difficult cleaning under there and just don't want to use anything water based, couldn't imagine pressure washing it for example.

I sometimes wipe under the wheel arches with a dry cloth but apart from that I don't clean underneath at all, that's getting too near to concours :headscratch:

No, I never use a pressure washer on the Capri. I use a dry cloth and regular car cleaning products for cleaning the suspension, crossmember, axle and those sorts of things.

I have to admit that I have done - mainly to remove any crud from the winter etc, always followed by going up on the axle stands and wiping down to remove the last of it all. There have been a few times I''ve gone out In 'ok' weather only to get caught out. In a few places it has flaked the paint off to reveal corrosion (on the bottom of the arches) my rationale being that it's better to expose those things now so they can be ground back and treated etc, than wait until it becomes a bigger problem and gets noticed.
