Deja Vu

Post by Peter-S »

Needed to use the Capri today. Freezing rain this morning. First time I've experienced it, fortunately not too bad but the grill and bumperhad a nice ice sheen when I got to work.
All turned to snow this afternoon so stopped quickly for a snow shot similar to one I took a few years back. Much less snow this time but the roads were very slippy as there was virtually no traffic. There was a lot of short shifting on the way home!

If there was an award for driving your Capri in the worst weather of the year I'd give it to you. Top marks Peter, the car even looks good covered in ice :applaud:

Glad you was ok in that freezing rain all our windows went and froze outside and the cat came in looking like a ice cat from a film . Very strange stuff I have never seen that in my life .
Love the pictures . Have not used our bus for a week now as I would not get the thing of the drive .

Hi Peter,
I'm pleased to hear that you've been able to get out and about, and more importantly, made it home safely.
Top marks for even attempting a journey in that weather!

Andrew.

I went out in mine yesterday which was arguably the worst day so far and everything was fine. My old 2.0s performed perfectly. Had a bit of fun with some intentional sideways action but when I wasn't mucking around and drove like you should in such conditions the car was fine and tackled anything I threw at it. Was lovely and warm on the inside too thanks to a new heater fan. Couldn't be more proud of the old lady.
Don't know what all the fuss is about when people say you can't use these cars all year round. I would upload a picture but my pc isn't hooked up at the moment and I can't remember my Flickr password on my phone.

I think the Capri sits low on the road and is not so wide so pulls like a train in the snow . I used mine all the time back in the day and I never got stuck .
I never did freezing rain so that’s was a first .

All can I just say one small little thing is that a two - Nil to the pinto boys .

When mine was on road I used it all weather's and it got places most cars couldn't, I got some funny looks from people as I passed them while they were stuck

I miss driving it but I will get it back on road not much left to do really

Just because i'm a firm believer in "pics or it didn't happen"...

I was so proud of the old girl that day. Performed and handled flawlessly. Tackled the snow and ice like it was nothing, and did some really fun skids when i found an empty car park ;)

Thanks Paul. Probably looks better with a sheen of ice than it does normally!!
