The V4 engines being made look tiny and very simple compared to a straight 4.

According to Wikipedia they were made in 1.2, 1.3, 1.5 and 1.7 litre capacities. The UK essex V4 was only 1.7 or 2.0.

Watching the film and seeing the production differences between the 50's and the 70's, I bet that on a modern production line there would be a fraction of the number of staff doing the tasks that were then done by hand.
