The Ford Capri Laser Page

It doesnt need a crystal ball to see the future of this one:

In a couple of years someone will restore it with standard Capri panels, a decent 2nd hand interior and some wheels that fit. It will then be worth marginally more than a standard 2.8i Special because of it's interesting engine conversion and will attract lots of attention at shows for the right reasons.

I liked the Escort Mk2 they did, although not a fan of the colour scheme. At least this time they talked about the brakes and suspension improvements. And that Norton Dominator looked and sounded awesome

I do like this show, but it's a pity they still have the staged elements in these shows though. Helen (supposedly experienced expert with a high level of professionalism with such things), driving it into a large boulder. I'm not an expert as she is, but I wouldn't have done that.

Then with the Capri one, Jimmy 'hasn't got a clue' where his two co-workers are, then they stroll in with a tattoo each. It's all a bit daft, but of course that's the soap-opera-entertainment aspect aimed at the mass audience.

By the way, did anyone else notice he described the Capri as being a 1988 model?

the factor in some of these programmes is pretty bad.

The soap opera entertainment(?) viewers probably don't even watch car programmes so what's the point

Don't recall him saying an 1988 model, but it was actually registered 3rd August 1987 (Of course it could have been registered between 1st Jan and 31st July 1988)

Yes, it's the same in a lot of shows, unfortunately. I'm currently watching an episode of Sin City Motors where Steve, the boss man, needs to buy a diesel engine from a JCB-type machine. While he's away talking with the seller, Steve's accomplice jumps into the JCB and attempts to operate it despite not knowing how to work the controls. Wait, what's this? The seller of the JCB has parked his supposedly decent pick-up truck within reach of the JCB's rear bucket. What could possibly happen next?

I have been watching Sin City Motors recently too.
Something about Twiggy

Classic Car Rescue is being repeated on Quest at 6pm. E Type episode last night, where after it's had the paint job Mario reverses it into the engine block that's on the floor behind him. That probably happened off camera, but the production team said lets make a real song and dance about it for the programme.....

Think I saw another Wheeler Dealers series with Edd starts Feb 22nd

I just wish the totty would shut up and pop the kettle on.......

Maybe if these TV executive/programme makers did their research and looked at forums such as this, they'd realise we don't want all the faux drama and silly parts blagging scenes.
We want interesting informative shows that are of use to the enthusiast.
So many shows that I love, i have to 'video' in order to fast forward to avoid all the shite.
It took me about 8 minutes to watch the Capri episode of Goblin whatsit.......
I wonder if that bird has actually thought it through that she's got 'Goblin' tattooed on her arm for life?!

Anyone else notice that when he got the car back to the workshop to show the others he announced it as a 1988 model?

Just caught up with the monster truck episode.....
With today's fashion in yank tanks, they could have saved 8k by simply clear coating the original patina it's spent 50 years accumulating...............gone the Sin City route.

By the way.............if the totty made herself useful and popped the kettle on for the men (I love being a misogynist)........would that make her a Goblin Teas Maid?
