That sounds interesting and I look forward to hearing what their plans are. It would be fitting if they did something in Halewood, but a more central location would be better.

Andrew.
Agreed Halewood would be good but it's now JLR production. I have a feeling its going to be Dunton Research Centre.

Hi,
Where did you hear that Ford were planning on organising something? I've had a quick look online to hopefully find some hints, but I can't find any mention of it at all.

It was in a news article that I read whilst shopping. I don't buy the magazine but it was an article on Ford in the UK. It had a feature on the Fiesta being 40 in 2017and then Just said something like Ford in the UK have two further bigger parties to celebrate Escort next year and Capri. It said that parties were TBS

Exactly one year away today! How scary!

So a quick rundown on what you might expect on the day & would like to get an idea of interested people for certain events on the day.

Merchandise - Stickers, TShirts but anything else people want from the day - lanyards, mugs? Please suggest!
Photos/Video - Entry photos & a DVD will likely to be produced again.
Banking/Finishing Straight photo selection - something to be discussed in greater detail, and what cost to each participant?
Test Hill - we know it's minimum 6 inch ground clearance required, and we think it will be minimum cost £400 for 10 runs - what are people prepared to pay?
Trade stands - A good variety!

And as I always say, if you meet new Capri owners, push the word far & wide!

Sounds like it’s going to be a good day , yes I up for all the goodies ,only thing I can’t see me doing the is hill climb in the car or on foot .
I did talk to Sue at the Capri club international and they said they would be coming . Also The new dash Matt bloke might do a stall .
Thanks for the update Kris

Small update is My Dad and the wife might do the climb run , I said I am ok with it as long as the car isn’t insured .

OMG what have I said ..... thoughts ladies and gents . :banghead:

As Jason says, it's going to be a great day.
I'll most likely buy a memento or two from the day. In 2014 I bought a photo from the man taking the photos at the entrance, and I'll definitely buy one again.
I'm not willing to pay extra for a go on the test hill, although I might be interested in a photo opportunity on the banking dependent on cost.

Perhaps we can have a mini Laser Page get together? We can meet up for a convoy and park on site together. Maybe we can even be granted permission to use the Laser Page banner for the occasion.

Yep thanks for the 12month reminder Kris

Gonna be a cracking day indeed !! Anyone checked the weather forecast ??? :)

Yep t-shirt sounds a great idea. Would buy a mug too but I would prob end up not using it to avoid getting it wet

Would be interested in a photo on the famous banking too but will wait to hear details nearer the time.

Laser forum convoy sounds like a plan and yep be great to see if the famous banner can attend too ! Was talking to Peter at Deal about the possibility of using it at Deal next year if enough people attend.

So, the countdown is on....now less than 1yr away and counting.....

I'll run the idea behind the Forum section by Kris and Calvin on tuesday night at the Surrey meeting. Afraid I'll probably have to go on the SCC area seeing as I'm treasurer of SCC and will probably be busy with marshalling or admin or whatever and if this forum has a stand then the same courtesy will have to be offered to Capri Power, Capri Word and CCi.

I'm sure traders will be welcome too subject to Brooklands' rules and in all cases a small donation may have to be made to Surrey Club just to help with the costs involved in running the show.

As I said, I'll raise this at Tuesday's meeting and get back to you all.

Paul.

Update :- It's fine for the group to come in together and display their banner. No worries. The only problem from an organisation point is that Surrey Club asks that you don't get there too early and that "sensible driving" is the order of the day when leaving.

Traders will have to arrange to pay the Brooklands people for a pitch.
