There have been a few where Fuzz has managed to get small but useful technical points across. I hope there will be more of that

Not overly impressed with the first episode tbh!

I watched the Aston Martin DB6 resto tonight and what a lovely car it turned out to be. Tim was his usual cretinous self but seeing how that company re glazed the badges was fascinating for me. The proverbial "they" say you learn a new thing every day and that was a new one on me.

I liked the car. Thing with Car SOS is why aren't some of these people getting thier cars done themselves? Not taking away from anyone's misfortune because believe me I understand that however it pees me off when I see a massive house, gardens and garage, driveway, electric gates and a list of I wants then you get a story on why the car isn't done. I say beg steal (not in the literal sense) and borrow, sell something or use your savings etc etc. If the cars were that high a priority then surely they'd get them done. Some are certainly more deserving then others in my eyes. The guy on the street with a clapped out Escort to me needs help more than the guy with 6 million worth of goods and a 300k sports car rotting in the garage. I'm sure the most of us get there without cash lining the walls.

I've thought that too. The bloke with the Daimler Dart was another example. But on the other hand the elderly man with the Audi Quattro was a derserving cause;- he passed away a few months after getting it back but at least it bought happiness to his last few months.

Also, as Andyd says, I don't believe the time schedules they say they are doing them in even with a fully equipped workshop with several skilled panel bashers and mechanics to get on with them. Either that or they're still rough as underneath.

That's why I like Fantom Works, as they are paying customers that wait as long as it takes to do their car properly.

I wouldn't be surprised if the programme researchers pay the full asking price for goods before the cameras start rolling. That way the suppliers would be happy to play along with the blagging for the cameras.

I would think that's what happens.

I always have a small tear in my eye when they hand over the SOS keys to the people who have had some sh1t hit them . As Tickover and my family helped me with my dream Capri again and I am sure it was a copy of classic ford that re started me again . But that’s a very long story ...............

I would think that's what happens.

That is exactly what happens, I know that for a fact.

It's a bit like those home improvement programmes where a whole house is renovated in a weekend. Even with a huge number of men (bearing in mind only so many can be working simultaneously), it won't be done to a good standard.

To add to the suspense and drama, I suppose. Almost every episode we hear that they've got this, that and the other left to do and they've only got X number of days left to do it in. Will they get the car completed on time....
I would imagine it's either that or it's simply to keep the programme production costs under control.

In an hour programme minus the adverts, imo there isn't time for Tims B/S.
Fair enough to show the parts suppliers and repairers involved, but the extra crap could be cut out to show more work on the cars.

Make the episodes 1 1/2 hours if they think it's necessary to leave it all in.
