..on the way back from Harrogate with my old man. Not bad. All top end though, it's weird, needs more more useable grunt then it would be much better. Such a massive power band... from 900 -7500 rpm I think. Too wide really..quite sedate at low revs and when it produces properly good torque you're nearly out of the useable range. I'd move it to 2500 or 3000 - 7500.. bet you could cram in loads more power that way from mid range up.
But then I get about 15mpg from my Capri that's tuned like that so it's all a tradeoff.. we were getting 35mpg in the GT86. Ahhh.. I remember those lazy days...

There's a rare unmolested example on Ebay at the moment, but at £30K it's more expensive than a new GT86.....Arya2.0S wrote:I'd rather have the old AE86.
