Aldi Welder - Opinions?
Re: Aldi Welder - Opinions?
Hi Paul,
From our experience with these sort of shops selling items like this, they never seem to work out quite the way you thought, or expected.
The old 'You get what you pay for' is very true.....
if you do get one though.

I know what you mean Andy, and do agree. However, every Aldi power tool which I've bought so far (and there are a fair few, as well as hand tools), have been excellent. And in some cases an actual upgrade on the 'named' tools I had beforehand.

Hi Paul,
I tend to leave welding to the experts as I'm not very good at welding. What I can tell you though, is that won't be any good for welding cars. Its an arc welder which is more suitable for heavy duty steel, so if you're thinking of making yourself a tow bar or something similar out of heavy gauge steel then it will probably do a reasonable job. No good for chassis or panel welds though, where you would need a MIG or TIG welder.
All the best
Neil

Thanks Neil, I too didn't have much hope for using that for car bodywork repair, but thought I would ask. The compressor I also posted about looks far better though.
