my previous Laser
Whilst going through some old photos I found this one of my previous 2.0 Laser....

Brought a bit of a tear to my eye as this was a brilliant motor which I used as my daily for absolutely everything !! Took me and my mates on a few lads holidays ( one up to Blackpool ) and it took me and the missus on some great holidays too. My Dad even used it as when I first bought it I was still living at home with my parents and as they did not have a car they used my Laser. Dad always complained it was very hard to park due to the heavy steering but he did look very cool when driving it about with Mum sitting beside him Unfortunately I had to let it go as I had bought B112 AAT and we had an Escort 1.8 GTi as our new daily drive so as I has three Fords needing taxing, insuring and MOT-ing one of the Capris had to go as the wife wanted to use the GTi as the daily. Whilst I know I made the right decision to sell it and concentrate on B112 it still has a place in my memories....and what great memories too which I wont ever forget.
Now I am building up great new memories in B112 but its still always great to look back at photos of D665 LTA. Loved it to bits....even the rusty ones
Anyway I just wanted to share a picture of it with you chaps
All the best

Looks nearly as nice as b112. Did it go to an enthusiast or do you not know its fate

Re: my previous Laser
Hi mate. Sold it to a guy who said he was going to restore it completely but the when collecting it changed the story a bit saying he had another Capri he was thinking of restoring but after seeing mine he would use his as a 'donor' for parts to use on D665. A couple of years later there was no trace of D665 when I did a check..... methinks the worse......rshyndy wrote:Looks nearly as nice as b112. Did it go to an enthusiast or do you not know its fate

Re: my previous Laser
Hi Nick,
Thanks for sharing the photo and your memories. The car looks great, I think the Capri looks especially good in black. Mrs F (I assume) looks as though she's enjoying being chauffeured around in it!
What a pity that the buyer obviously didn't cherish it as much as you did though.
Andrew.

Very nice Nick I also like black but it's a pain in the rear to keep clean and any small marks seem to really show . I just posted up on another link about doing a v888 form with the dvla might be worth it .

It's great to look back on past pictures. I've got printed pic's of all my previous cars. Your Laser looked great in Black, I particularly like that top tint windscreen too. That Escort GTI you owned must be a pretty rare car now also. Bet none were as shiny as B112 though

There was no-one in the car at the time I took this picture Andrew.... .....Andrew 2.8i wrote: Mrs F (I assume) looks as though she's enjoying being chauffeured around in it!
Yep its Mrs F mate. Shes doing something with her fingers...hmmm...sure I seen this before
She did enjoy travelling about in D665 just not all the attention it got wherever we went...even back then !!
Yep I really had hoped I would find D665 had survived mate but looks very unlikely.
Cheers Jason. Yep when I Autoglymed it up the Bkack paintwork looked amazing...until the next morningJasonmarie wrote:Very nice Nick I also like black but it's a pain in the rear to keep clean and any small marks seem to really show . Think I might not like what I find if I dig deeper into what became of D665 Jason but thanks anyway
Thanks Rob. Yep that tint strip was a great touch mate. Dont see many tinted windscreens nowadays.Caprifan Rob wrote: Your Laser looked great in Black, I particularly like that top tint windscreen too. That Escort GTI you owned must be a pretty rare car now also.
Yep wish I still had the GTi Rob but that had to go as well. Was a lovely motor that was. I must see if I can dig up a picture of it. Its great to have printed pictures of previously owned cars as memories. Nowadays its all Cloud this and Fkickr that !
All the best chaps

Just found this picture of B112 and D665 not long before I sold D665.

Was always great looking out the window when I brought B112 out of the garage and had them both parked up outside our previous address

Both of your cars have that similar (although in a different position) orange stripe Nick. Is that just coincidence? It's a bit spooky if so!

Is she pointing out that you owned two Capris?Fordoholic Nick wrote:Shes doing something with her fingers
Also, it seems strange seeing B112 without the JBW wheels!

Re: my previous Laser
Nice one Danny. Yep having two Capri's was great but I could not afford to keep them both taxed, insured and MOT'ed so I decided D665 had to go so I could focus 100% on B112. Danny its brilliant you got the two yourself and yep it does make a cracking photoD366Y wrote:Love this picture Nick! Love doing this myself with mine too!!
Well spotted Paulpbar wrote:Both of your cars have that similar (although in a different position) orange stripe Nick. Is that just coincidence? It's a bit spooky if so!
Mate it was just sheer coincidence...honest ! Yep very similar 'orangey' thin stripe on my previous Laser but as you correctly pointed out not in the same position...more in keeping with a 2.8i stripe position than a Laser decal set. Still it looked good Paul so kept it just as I have decided to keep the orange stripe on B112 ! You really have an eye for detail on Lasers Paul...did not expect anyone to mention that stripe...nice one
And the orange front indicators Andrew !Andrew 2.8i wrote:Also, it seems strange seeing B112 without the JBW wheels!
Yep looking back at these photos it does seem a tad strange to see the standard 4 spokes and the other little changes I made but I really am happy with the changes and love the little modern tweaks here and there still keeping the charactor of the Capri
All the best chaps
