Hey gang! Just in case you lock yourself out the house...

Post by Major_Tom »

..my insurance company sent me these invaluable pearls of wisdom!!

https://blog.aplan.co.uk/what-to-do-if- ... newsletter

The advice ranges from "get someone inside to let you in" to "go through an unlocked door".. but my favourite has to be "remove the door"... which since you're locked out must mean smashing it down
I'm the one who leaves all those shoes in the carriageway.

Brilliant!
I love it that somebody at the insurance company must sincerely believe that they are offering valuable advice there.......

I like the "climb through a window" bit. I can just see me trying to get through a fanlight and getting my 20 stone bulk stuck. Then what? Can I claim that on the policy? Probably be stuck then a bloody copper would come by (be the first one in years!) and nick me for breaking and entering, or the local kids would see my fat arse hanging out and come and wack me with a stick and nick my wallet. :spank:

I thought insurance companies wanted everyone to fit window locks and make sure all windows were closed anyway!

That blog has to pass as the biggest load of :bullshit: in years!

Oh my good god do they think people are stupid

Years back when I had not long moved into a house I lived in the neighbour who was a lady in her late 50s came around knocking, she asked me if I could break into her house for her as her puppy Rottweiler had leant against the door when she was out front her keys were in the house and there was no windows open, I did wonder if I looked dodgy, got in the house for her without breaking anything so she was mega happy.

Yes the advice given does seem silly and obvious :) But, you do have to remember that there are plenty of people who are less fortunate than ourselves, who might require such advice. Honestly.

Common Sense for most, but for a majority they do need this information.....

What about, "Get on Mobile Phone straight away and tell everyone on social media you have locked yourself out" :sarcasmalert:
