Don't know if this is old news or whatever, but my Mrs was on Facebook and said that some scumbag people are somehow attaching syringe needles to petrol pump handles. These needles are possibly (most likely) infected. Don't know if it's a localised area thing or a national thing. Just keep your eyes open I guess.

Hi,
If that's true that is despicable.
What's the world coming to?
Thanks for the warning.

Sounds gross. Hope its an urban myth.
Where on Facebook has this been reported as actually having happened?

I'm not sure mate. Could be a load of crap but you never know. I'm not on Facebook but my Mrs is, and she was just looking through different things and that came up. She told me and later I remembered to tell you guys.

Like I said. Could be a load of crap but to be honest, nothing would suprise me.

Thanks for the warning mate. This would not surprise me at all sadly ! I got a message on the bus radio at work on a late shift last week warning that their are gangs floating around north and south London at night approaching cars in 'singles' pretending they are lost then when the car window is wound down they throw acid in the face of the driver. No reason but guessing presumably to steal the car ?? If true how sick is this. I mean as shite as it is to have your motor nicked to have your face disfigured for life........

As said what is the world coming to....

Thanks for the heads up. The world is full of horrible people, some you will meet, some you won't. You just have to hope that you will not meet the worst of them.

Lots of these are just scaremongering. Think logically. A forecourt is covered in CCTV cameras and is manned most of the day and night. Sometimes 24 hours. Of all the places to stick a needle, somehow fixing it to a petrol pump in full view of roads and people, by people too poor to even waste money on sellotape etc.. already the story untangles.

As for the acid in the face thing, I sincerely doubt that too. Why steal a car with acid covering the panels and interior? There are always stories flying around the internet "gangs flash lights at other motorists then knife them" etc. Always. Of course, if I was on the radio trying to get people to listen to my crap show..... I might keep these legends going too.. to scare my audience into subscribing.

It's all bollocks. I hate these stories, they're always bullshit. Get out there and enjoy your life, it's too short to be worrying about some fucking keyboard cunt in Facebook land in his mum's bedroom trying to see how many reposts he gets at the expense of our common sense.. imagine every poor guy believing it and checking every petrol pump for the rest of his life. That is what these cunts want you to do. Disregard it and move on. It's a power thing.

If in doubt, check snopes.com... I haven't checked it for the above two stories, but I bet 100% that they're bollocks and have done the rounds all over the world and probably originated in the US.

Here we are I did the hard work for you and I was right, surprise surprise:

http://www.snopes.com/horrors/mayhem/gaspump.asp

..now kick that rumour to the kerb and DO NOT repost!!!

Can't find the acid in the face one, but haven't properly looked and I've got to go out now... hope I don't get bummed or melted!!

(Sorry.. I absolutely hate scare stories with no base.. sure someone might have had acid thrown in their face at some point, it does happen, sure, but their is no organised gang up to this on a regular basis.. imagine, some guys in incredibly thick clothing and face protection holding some containers trying to get you to pull over  )

Logically yes. You are right. It's highly unlikely. But not impossible.
Not long ago in my town some girls found a loads of used needles left on a baby change facility in a public toilet.

I don't use Facebook (or any social media for that matter) all I got was second hand info from my Mrs. I don't know what a re-post is. I don't care much for all the stories you hear on the Internet. I was just giving a heads up.

Let's just hope it is a load of crap and there aren't some little toss bags out there thinking about trying it.
I will be checking anyway

Although the petrol pump needle thing may or not be scaremongering/a hoax, it's always a good idea to be vigilant. There are some very nasty blood-borne diseases around that can be transmitted through contact with an infected needle. Users of said needles aren't fussy about where they dispose of them.

Total BS, but always good to be vigilant just in case. The world is a screwed up place, never underestimate humanities' ability to screw itself over.

Its just the type of people who are so miserable they cant stand to see other people be happy or even somewhat "normal", so they have to try and bring everyone else down to their own miserable level just to feel any semblance of happiness. Bullies, trolls, fear mongers they are all the same.
