4x4 Transits..
4x4 Transits..
..remember them? Not seen one in years, but there's one on eBay:

..they do the AWD ones in the newer style, but they're clearly road vehicles these days. The MK3 ones look really mean!

I think the AA and RAC use them, especially in rural areas. I was watching one of those winter rescue programs on TV and they towed a Range Rover out of some bloke's garden with one.

For the best part of 5 grand the seller could have given it a 5 minute once over with some Mr Sheen.
Re: 4x4 Transits..
It is pretty fucking cheddar gorge isn't it. If I could be bothered to do the Capri up so it's worth the money....... and if I could be absolutely sure it was A1 condition........ I think I'd have that.340truck wrote:Oh man I so want that

Re: 4x4 Transits..
The electric and waterboard used to use them around here a bit, there were still a couple in use by BT or their contractors last year when they were renewing some overhead wiring, which were fitted with cherry pickers, there were a few Unimogs as well, handy looking bit of kit they are.
Re: 4x4 Transits..
Yeah we had two electricity poles down a few months back (the badgers had mined away at their foundations and they came down in the high winds).. a Landy arrived... then a truck carrying the poles... and later in the day, a lovely Unimog I prefer the old shape but it was still good to see one.andy a wrote:There were a few Unimogs as well, handy looking bit of kit they are.

Re: 4x4 Transits..
Im a great fan of mid sized vans and would have loved something like this when i was in business a few years ago. The Sherpa/ LDV i had was surprisingly more enjoyable to drive than most cars but a Transit that can seriously mud plug like a land Rover would have been awesome.
