So I have started with the light covers to make look like new again .
I used some paint from eBay and thought not much to lose would just have to rub down again if paint is pants but it worked out well .

Re: Wash bottle clean up ....
So Today the weather looks a bit like it's going to rain so I thought I would clean that rear wash bottle out ..
O.M.G
And now what come out ... look away chaps as I feel like this should have been done when I first got the little lady .
That's what 10 years of just sitting in the bottle does .. and now sitting in the bathroom with bleach in .
Also if my wife ever sees this post please could you say somebody has the same bath as ours ....

Re: Wash bottle clean up ....
So left for 24hrs in bleach I had to remove the sponge pads under the bottle so have them drying and will glue back on also I notice under the bracket that the bottle fits in had some surface rust so I will be removing this and cleaning and spraying again ( might use my spray paint workshop box again )
But one thing I noted is the bottle smells like a damp / mouldy smell so might leave it with some washing condition the stuff the wife uses in that room they go into to wash our clothes in .
Will keep you updated

Its always very rewarding to restore 'as you go along'. I am still removing parts that reveal areas needing attention so great peace of mind knowing before you refit these parts the area has been 'made good'. Re: Wash bottle clean up ....
Cheers nick
I cleaned up some more bits today also I might change the tube but looking on eBay I don't know if I need 3mm or 4mm has anybody changed there's .
Some pictures of today's small job
Used this just for the screws & the little bits on the bracket
Thought I would Prime first just to be on the safe side
Finished with black gloss and then the clear coat .
Just need to fit the sponge back on wash bottle and refit . Also I did clean under the washbottle in the car and all was well but did just put some rust-paint in the holes .

Re: Wash bottle clean up ....
So Iam back to the radiator panel with the Dim Dipped I have put the 2.8i one on eBay just hope to get my money back and pass on to somebody who needs it .
But after really looking at the panel I am going to go down the powder coating as it really is a great finish and beats any paint job I could do . So Iam looking at this company
https://www.jdmpowdertech.co.uk
Have sent them over some pictures asking for a rough price . I was just wondering if anybody on here has also got anything powder coated ? If so how much did you have to pay .

Jason, looking at that video you took in your car I assume you are in the longfield area, anyway for my powder coating I use kent powder coating questor business park dartford, just off hawley road I found then very helpful, good work and price not to bad, I expect you rad panel would be £20. If you know where tickover is, the power coaters is just around the corner

Re: Wash bottle clean up ....
Hi,
I've had the odd few bits and bobs powdercoated, such as brackets, radiator panel and so on. For what it costs, it's definitely a worth having done as the finish is much more durable than paint. It's a fit and forget solution.
If you prefer a satin finish instead of a full gloss, make sure that the powdercoaters are able to accomodate this. It might be best to see a sample of their work, that way you can choose a finish that best suits your preference before you let them loose on your parts!
Andrew.

Jason they do a really good job on matt, I had my rad panel and pedal box done in matt, all you must be sure about is the metal condition any rust pits will show up after blasting

Hi yes I do have some rust pits showing under the paint so will gloss get rid of them and Matt show or both show the rust pits ? As I might have to go back to my first plan and get one done at Mirage .
Funny I come full circle with this rad panel it's that Dim Dipped thing that I want to keep as ford wanted it that way .
I will have to keep a eye out for Arnoldhar as you must be near me ? But have not spotted another capri around here for a long time .

Before the items get powered they are blasted clean so this will leave some pitting if rusty, gloss or matt finish won't make any difference, to be honest you won't know until it's done but the more power they can apply the less it will show and yes I am in longfield
