A Facebook post reminded me it's world goth day and it got me thinking its nearly 10 years since this poor girl lost her life just for wanting to dress differently http://www.sophielancasterfoundation.com
The site is worth a look. If you want to read a bit more the sale of these books contributes to the work of the foundation trying to stamp out intolerance in all its forms:

Personally I think being free to be individual is one of the best things about being human and there is something intrinsically limited about the minds of those who cant cope with it. Otherwise we would all end up drinking terrible fiz beer, listening to Justin Bieber and driving bloody Saxos, what hope for humanity then. .
I hear the roar of the big machine.

I remember that like it was yesterday. I used to know her BF before it all happened.
I'm the one who leaves all those shoes in the carriageway.

I remember that too. I was particularly shocked as i used to dress "differently" when i was young and often faced lots of verbal abuse for it, though i never experienced anything on this level. The people who did this are pure scum and dont deserve to exist on this planet.
