Ever wondered where.....

Post by andyd »

The plane above is going :?:
https://www.flightradar24.com/50.81,-2.91/7 Click and drag screen, click on any plane and it will give speed, height and destination etc.

Found this sometime ago, there is a lot going on up there :!:

I know, imagine planning the routes and altitudes to avoid collisions :?

Hi Andy,
Brilliant site!
Look at the difference in air traffic between our areas and London!
Considering all that's going on up there, it's surprising that there aren't more collisions between planes.

Andrew.

Wish I was on one of them going somewhere nice. Travelled widely in my younger days but haven't had a proper holiday since 2004 now.

It's quite addictive watching them actually!

Didn't realise it was so busy, excellent site, glad it's quiet over me at moment, just one private plane. Hope he's awake :)

Torquay Airport? I know Torbay quite well and have never seen an airport or airfield there.

No, you just jump out with arm bands on and a Schweppes parasol. The deposit on them is quite expensive, but so long as you return them undamaged you get your £12,000 back.
I'm the one who leaves all those shoes in the carriageway.

Apparently there's one in Australia, but the pilot appeared to have been flying the wrong way for that!
The flight might take longer than 39 mins from Gatwick too.....

This is an incredible addictive website. Thanks for making me waste so much time, Andy!
The flight paths that some of these planes take is amazing. I'm currently looking at a flight from Istanbul to New York that is flying over Iceland! :headscratch: Is the pilot lost, or what?

I don't look at it that often now. I find Military Jets don't often show up on it, probably as they are too low :?

Helicopter? There is an official landing site nearby.

I remember watching the Canadian Lancaster on FR24 when it came over to the UK in 2014 - it disappeared from view for a long tome over the Atlantic as it was flying too low to be picked up. I sent the wife a text as it was coming in and crossing the Scottish coast but she wasn't as excited about it as me
