I guess that this could be the 'newest' Capri still in existence? Can't be far off!

It looks ok from the side, but that's about it imo....Each to their own :)

I LOVE the sofa-style velour Recaros.

And all the tassling.

And the mini-bar.

Even if it's not to everyone's taste, it is very well executed.

I've seen this car at the Cardiff St Fagans show. Would have fitted in well with the crazy custom cars of the '70's, but that was 40 years ago..
As you say, each to they're own, think I liked it's Starsky & Hutch incarnation the best :D

I like the badges on the back. Just in case there was any doubt that it is a custom Capri!

Andrew.

 If it wasn't for the colour I'd have trouble distinguishing it from standard ..

And I bet he's got LED dash illumination!

If he has, he's got my respect!

I think it's fair to say that this is one man's interpretation of the perfect Capri. Custom designs like this were all the rage in the 70's and 80s, they might come back into fashion again one day........

It's funny though, this chap gets criticised for building his dream car, the driver of the silver car gets slated for not driving his car enough, and others get criticised for replacing their dash bulbs......... There's a lot of negativity around! :D

Andrew.

Imagine coming out in the morning to find someone had done something like that to yours!

Well, it's not my thing at all, but live and let live is what I say! :)

Just looking through a past CCI magazine (December 1988 !) and came across the article of this very Capri, it had only done 573 miles at that time, it's only done 9 miles in the last 29 years :? The picture even shows the 1600E he still owns. Must be the most original Capri in the country.

Hi Rob,
Great find! Obviously the car would have been just over 2 years old at that time. It's interesting to note that Albert thought that 573 miles on the clock was too high! As you say, it must be the best condition original Capri in the country (except any that are unregistered and unused).

Andrew.

Thanks for posting that Rob, pretty amazing stuff. He starts it up every two months and drives it forwards and backwards. Goodness me, the evenings must just fly by! Each to their own, but I don't think that I would get any fun from that, I like to get out there driving.

It currently has 582 miles on it.
