introducing some chrome ?

Post by Not_Anumber »

Something I wondered when i had my last Capri over 20 years ago and thought of again. I always liked the chrome windows surrounds on the Mk2 Capris and thought they could look right on a Mk3. I'd read somewhere the Mk3 ones were the same parts just painted over in mat black and would be shiny if stripped off.
Anyone know if this is true.?

They're tin/aluminium something of that nature. They will buff up if you strip them but not in the way that chrome does.

Hi,
Personally, I think the Mk3 looks just about right as it is and doesn't need chrome additions.

However, if you were to strip the paint off the trims, a professional metal polisher should be able to make them almost as shiny as chrome items.

Andrew.
