One of my alloys was stolen!

Post by EightyFive »

Yep as if getting a big dent in a carpark wasn't bad enough (viewtopic.php?f=10&t=50669&p=343905#p343905), one of my alloys has now been stolen.

Currently I've got the back-end up on axle stands as i'm having some work done on the half shafts, long story short:I hid the wheels in a parked car, (tinted rear windows) but I didn't think to lock it  and hey presto one has now been stolen, they must have only had a quick look as they had only pinched the more 'visible' closer to the door, either that or they were in a rush. So frustrating, I would love to get my hands on the fucker tbh!

Thank God nothing had happened to the car itself, I have now rented a lock-up and that's where I will be storing it, wheels and all! Better than a yard backing onto an alleyway at least. This is nothing but a rant at the end of the day, and I know I only have myself to blame (which makes it even worse imo)... Hopefully this will atleast be a lesson to others: If you're thinking of chancing it, or "it'll be okay overnight" then don't! Always better to be safe than sorry and I have learnt the hard way. :nopity:

Sorry to hear it fella, you are not having much luck at all! Hopefully you can source another wheel without too much hassle/money

Hi,
I'm sorry to hear that too. It seems unusual to hear of wheels being stolen these days, you must be unlucky on that count.
As Danny says, you should be able to get a replacement without too much trouble, and at least your sorry tale should serve as a warning to others.

Andrew.

Yep as already has been said sorry to hear your woes. By the sound of it you could have done without this but suppose as you said yourself it could have been worse !

When I first seen your thread title I was thinking "bet he dont have lock nuts" but upon reading further it soon became apparent these would have not helped  :sorry:

Great you got a lock up rented now. Not only will it be much better security but keeps the Capri protected from the elements too. Nice one :)

Hope you get a replacement wheel easy enough.

All the best now

Nick

The bastards would nick the fillings out of your teeth if they could!

A Laser alloy should be easily replaceable but it's still a pain and expense.

That really sucks. Why would they nick just one old Ford wheel though?

Sorry to hear this mate. Not long ago someone tried having my wheels away. Cars parked outside my house. Drive it the next morning and it was all over the shop. Checked wheel nuts and only lock nuts wer there. Found the rest outside my house on the road.
A very kind offer from turbo Mike aswel.

Wow really? I will PM. Honest to God I did not expect a handout when I posted this, I just wanted somewhere to rant!

Annoyingly I can't move the car because the bearings are being done on the halfshafts! Atleast the car isn't going anywhere  .Thanks for all your words people, this forum really is awesome!
