Superb :) Great collection there Steve, just looking at them exudes enjoyment and fun. As you rightly say, not the solitary-intense-serious-anxious mindset of today's screen users.

That box of games - makes me want to dive in and pick one out to play!
I still have my dads Spectrum and his Atari 2600 set up in my room! I also bought an old Amiga a few years ago with a bunch of floppy discs but they're all a nightmare to get running smoothly first time

Every single one of them, especially at the `pictures`: "take your coat off or you won`t feel the benefit"
(Also "it`s no wonder I`ve got blood pressure"!)

Yep , even down here most of those would be known to anyone over 50. My Grandma was wild scot put on this earth to admonish.......everyone, that would have been like a check list for her , apparently she even rote Monty an earful when she found out the army ( Grandma didnt like the army ) had hoiked Grandads apendix under local in the middle of the north african desert.
I have (well Mum is looking after for me ) some awesome old pix of Monty visiting Grandads unit in the desert ,and some of the boys giving fritz a curry up ,night shots of things blowin up . If anyone is interested ,I say with the best of intentions (mothers being what they are  ), I will get them scanned and posted.

I had all of those used on me in my youth plus the other old favorite of "Eat all your food on the plate. Think of the poor starving in Africa."

Probably why I'm over 20 stone now.

Nice one  I used to get "if he said stick your finger in the fire would you?" rather than jumping off a cliff though.

I've still got 3 of those in my kitchen, tea, coffee and sugar. Just about to remove them and throw them out.

I would say they are pretty rare now Paul.

Saw one on an episode of The Sweeney a few days ago, that's what reminded me :)

Good one Andy. I don't remember those so just been reading up on them a little. I assume they dispense loose tea, and sugar?

That's what they did Paul.

Good idea really, it saves cluttering up the worktop or cupboard.

We had the can opener on the wall, but not the tea dispenser.

You're right Hamish, some of the new ones are good for a few cans then fail and become feeble rubbish.

Like most things, old school is the best school.

This is an apt one for the forum, nice set of tools for the car. Seems such a strange idea now, why make chocolate tools? But nobody questioned it back then, we just enjoyed them.
