I saw this at a car show recently and just couldn't resist it. Alternately flashing blue lights too -

What a great find!!!
I remember these when I started my driving life, living up Huddersfield, the Manchester traffic used to come over the Pennines in a whole array of Fast Fords, XR4i's, Granada 2.8 Injections, these Capris, dating back to the Pepper Pot cars, later on they even had the Sierra GLSi's. I even remember seeing RS2000's done up in stripes and lights.... Mind, the one which scared us the most next to the Cappa was the Rover SD1, V8..... Memories... Cheers for the pics, all the best,
John....

Re: Police Capri
Thanks for all the replies He did have several police Capri's for sale including a very nice 2.8 A reg, with pepperpots, from another constabulary. This had a single beacon on the roof, no working lights on that one though. I spotted the one I got from a few dozen feet away with it's flashing lights and I was taken by it straight away, the real car actually spent some years of it's service a few miles from where I live and as mentioned, I believe that it still does the rounds at shows.

Re: Police Capri
Excellent.
Reminds me of a story one of my friends told me once.
He used to work as a race bike mechanic and one day he just so happened to take a Ducati race bike out for a spin on the road(many years ago now) he was pottering down an A road at some speed, and sees a police car on the bridge. A few miles later a Polica Capri pulls him over!
He did mention at the time what the speedo was reading and he was quite shocked that anything could have caught up, let alone a Capri!
The copper mentioned that the Capri was turbo charged by tickford! Tbh i never knew they turbo charged any of the police cars, but that sure would give it a bit more go to catch up with a race bike.
Anyway nice model, i want to find one for my son & I to play with

Re: Police Capri
Liking that, a very well modified model based on the White 2.8 by Norev (you can't get these off the shelf like this)...with the added extra of working lights!- cool!

I'd love to own that!
Andrew.

It does turn up for sale occasionally. Or one of them does.
