Sorry, I wanted to not put anyone else through this, but I can't keep this burden to myself.

Re: What have I just seen?
Hi,
Modifications on this scale are not my thing at all, although I can appreciate the hours of hard work that have gone into creating the owner's vision of the perfect Capri.
Andrew.

Like it or not the owner has actually made an excellent job of this and has still managed to keep pretty much on the money with the lines of the Capri with his 5 door Capri and it looks in fantastic condition too
Not so sure about the other "half" though
All the best
Nick

Re: What have I just seen?
Like everyone is saying its the owners vision and it is impressive to see how a idea becomes reality. Sure you can make a fully original Capri but each to there own be it engine swaps to stretching the entire car.
Thanks,

Re: What have I just seen?
Haha.
Indeed, I was more shocked than disgusted. I exaggerated my feelings toward it.
Truly a one-off. There were a few pictures of it, this one showed off the trailer too.
I'm not sure what inspired it, but I can only begin to image the amount of work it took to get something that looked this right, considering it's five door coupe.
I've seen the rear half section of Capris turned into trailers in the past, but never anything with the front end.
I like the colour too

Re: What have I just seen?
Yeah. this was bugging me... I new there was something different about this one as I have seen this kind of thing done before with a Capri but like you say with the "trailer" type rear section rather than the front end. Thanks for putting my mind at rest....which aint too dificultMattMe wrote:I've seen the rear half section of Capris turned into trailers in the past, but never anything with the front end.
Hey I wonder if those headlights actually work in the rear section. Jeepers you would not want them glaring into your rear view mirror at night...bit blinding to say the least
All the best

I like the car and colour, but the trailer looks should have left the front off.....MattMe wrote:Haha.

As Andrew said above, it's not my thing but it is an incredible conversion & as you say looks so 'right'.MattMe wrote: I'm not sure what inspired it, but I can only begin to image the amount of work it took to get something that looked this right, considering it's five door
Trailer looks like the result of a midnight liaison with a Capri & a Reliant Robin but still a lot of work.

I was most baffled by the wing mirrors on trailer.
Have you noticed the shortened end caps on the bumper of the trailer too?

Re: What have I just seen?
It might not be a trailer, but a three wheeler Capri parked behind the five door version!Freelanderfan wrote:Trailer looks like the result of a midnight liaison with a Capri & a Reliant Robin

Re: What have I just seen?
I looked at this, and wasn't going to post, but then I decided to, then that I wouldn't, this wen't on for a while, I went outside for a cigarette, I cam eback, had another look, and now I cant unsee it, and I have to wash my eyes out with bleach, and hope that's enough
I know there's the whole each to their own argument, I appreciate that tastes differ, but why exactly would somebody do that, I wonder what thought process went through the builders mind, was it a long term ambition, or just one of those things yo do on the spur of the moment, did they spend years pushing bits of carrot around their dinner plate thinking "Oh, one day I'm going to cut and shut various bits of Capri transforming the original lines into what they were obviously mean't to be, a 4 door saloon/coupe with a little extra window in the middle there to add a bit of limousine just for good measure", or was it simply a case of waking up one morning, and thinking "right, yesterday was a right barsteward, so today I'm going to take it out on my Capri, and I'll style it so everyone knows I'm completely off my rocker", I bet it would take more than a junior psychologist at your average NHS hospital to get to the bottom of it.
Still, at least it got painted in the right colour for a Capri

Re: What have I just seen?
Hi,
andy a had better look away now.
Here's a side-on view of the same car:
And a rear view.
For a full-on Capri Limo, this was a special build project by the Capri Club for one of the summer camps, if I remember correctly.
Andrew.

Re: What have I just seen?
That must have taken some work to get the rear of those rear doors functioning and looking like that. Shame they didn't put the same work in on the midsection where the doors meet up. The door lines, the "b" pillar and the windows all look off to me. If I were going to do it (and had the skills to) I'd rip off the rx8 rear door idea and keep the original length, or stretch it ever so slightly. Much better than the stretch limo though!!
Re: What have I just seen?
Truly awful. What a shame to ruin a beautiful car with this abomination.
