Steve,
The Firenza/ Magnum 2300 supposedly topped 120MPH. Maybe it had a different speedo fitted, calibrated to a higher amount.
Andrew.
Yes, the Magnums certainly had the later 6 dial instrument display, not unlike a certain Ford of the era...
(Or was it even 7, tacho, speedo & clock + 4 minor gauges???)

Car wigs are something else, big in the `70s, which have now been completely forgotten about. You tell young people today and they just won`t believe you!

Hi,
Just to illustrate the point for our younger forum members.
I remember my Aunt had a wig just like this fitted to her Wolseley Hornet. Unfortunately, it went rotten, as was all too often the case......

In another thread I have literally just posted that 'anything quirky gets the thumbs up from me'. I would publicly like to retract that statement herewith.
Lmao I remember seeing this it's white perl now I bought it 5 years ago a Matt black colour with some "glue" spots on the body never new it looked liked this we did chuckle
I just showed my old man that new Jazz. I mean Viva. He looked a mixture of shocked and offended and said "awful" then went away to do something else to take his mind off it.
I'm the one who leaves all those shoes in the carriageway.
Vauxhall have the new Viva, the Adam and the Corsa in the same small car segment so they seem to be crowding their own marketplace. Mind you I supose they are selling them unlike Ford's late shape KA. I had a couple of Firenzas back in the day, never a fan of the odd slant fan engine.

I can understand the new Viva being aimed at those who would have bought a Hyundai Atoz or Suzuki Wagon R or some other piece of delightful Oriental minaturised engineering, but the Adam must be GM's answer to the Fiat 500 or a cheap version of the Mini with all the different colours and trim options you can get. I guess it's named after Adam Opel, the man who founded the company whose name it wears in the rest of europe.
Like everyone says though, whats the point of either of them? Imho it would probably make more sense from a manufacturing prospective if Vauxhall / Opel offered the Corsa as a boggo windy windows no frills version, (a la Dacia Sondero) for about £7-8k and further up the range introduced all the colour/trim Adam options to appeal to those who may buy a Fiat 500.
